Netizens think some have taken things too far.
Recently, BTS‘s Suga became the next idol targeted with a wreath project.
Earlier this month, the announcement of former RIIZE Seunghan‘s resumption of schedules led to protests from fans against his return. The largest of these protests was the delivery of hundreds of wreaths commonly associated with funerals.
Fans Bombard SM Entertainment With Wreaths Protesting RIIZE Seunghan’s Return
Seemingly inspired by the project, those wishing Suga would leave BTS after his DUI scandal began a similar project outside HYBE.
While netizens have shared they find these wreath protests unsettling, many were caught just as much off guard by BTS fans’ reactions to the wreaths.
As expected, fans quickly defended Suga, finding ways to fill the protest area with support instead of hate.
Today, we make our voices louder than the antis with our own physical support for Yoongi and BTS at HYBE— 3 LED + food trucks, banners, and most importantly, ARMY at HYBE!
Again, antis may be loud but ARMYs ARE LOUDER‼️📣

Other fans’ reactions to the protests were shared on an online forum, where many did not agree with their methods.
A netizen compiled instances of fans taking images of those alleged to be involved in the protest and sharing them online uncensored, along with alleged social media information.
The most shocking to many netizens were that some fans edited these images into funeral portraits.
Netizens discussed these reactions, finding them unacceptable despite the circumstances.
- “Seriously crazy… That singer and their fans are just alike.”
- “They did that to regular people? If that’s the case, they’ve crossed the line, haven’t they? That’s crazy.”
- “Seriously, that’s crazy. Those international K-pop fans made such a big fuss with funeral wreaths, but now they think there’s no issue with using a regular person’s funeral portrait? They’re out of their minds. What are people even doing, not calling them out?”
- “They’re just taking random pictures of women near the protest site, tagging big OT6 accounts, and claiming that those people run those accounts. Evidence? Of course, there’s none. They’re just doxxing random people and mobbing them. But those kinds of posts are getting thousands of retweets, and it’s not just one or two.”
- “If this keeps up, isn’t this just going to ruin BTS’s image even more when they make a comeback?”
- “It’s unbelievable. Why on earth are they doing that?”
