SHINee’s Taemin Recalls The Time Jonghyun Saved Him From Bullies

SHINee‘s Taemin recently shared a heartwarming anecdote about Jonghyun during a recent live stream. It was a tale from their days as a trainee. They had run into bullies on the way home, but Jonghyun protected Taemin from harm.

According to Taemin, Jonghyun had shielded him from having his sneakers stolen.

This is the first time I’m speaking off it. As I was eating bbungeo bbang, I met some really scary hyungs. We were so young and they were so huge in size. They told us to go over. We met eyes and they picked a fight with us. This was at Dongdaemun. I was so scared, but Jonghyun hyung was really so calm and confident. He was like, what’s going on? It felt like we would be able to tide things through, but the alleyway was so dark. Three more guys were there, and they were huge. I met eyes with them and thought things would be bad. I thought we should’ve made a run for it. They stole many things from us. Things like our mp3 and iPods. We were kind of poor back then. AFAIK, they asked for my iPod. Hyung stopped them from taking it. He told them that they shouldn’t take it. Things like our Nike sneakers were precious. Air Forces. He told them they shouldn’t take mine. Hyung walked home barefoot. It was so scary for me as I was so young. He was laughing so much as he told me that I shouldn’t worry about it and that he lived nearby. He told me that we would be able to talk about it at a later date. His feet would’ve been cold as it was raining back then. AFAIK he had to walk a long way home. But he laughed as he talked about it. Even the next day during practice. There were such memories.

Jonghyun was willing to have his belongings taken in place of Taemin. No wonder Taemin recalls Jonghyun with nothing but fond memories!
