The Korean entertainment scene has been shaken by the sudden passing of beloved actress Park Ji Ah.
Park passed away on September 30 after battling a cerebral infarction. She was 52. Following the news on early September 30, her castmates from The Glory have since been mourning her loss.

Park had a versatile career in both film and television, debuting in 2002 with The Coast Guard. She became known for her powerful performances in films such as Epitaph and Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, where she portrayed hauntingly memorable characters. Park also appeared in numerous television dramas, including God’s Quiz 4, The Good Wife, Doctors, Suspicious Partner, and Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon.
However, perhaps her biggest role was in the massive Netflix hit K-Drama, The Glory, where she played Jung Mi Hee, the mother of Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo‘s character). Despite her limited screen time in The Glory, Park Ji Ah’s portrayal left a lasting impact on viewers, delivering a performance that added depth to the main storyline. Her sudden passing has led her co-stars to express their deep condolences.
Song Hye Kyo, who played her on-screen daughter in The Glory, has already sent a condolence wreath to the funeral. Fellow actors Park Sung Hoon, Jung Sung Il, Kim Hieora, and Kim Gun Woo are expected to attend the funeral in person to pay their respects.
Other key members of the production, including writer Kim Eun Sook, Yum Hye Ran, and Cha Joo Young, are paying tribute in their own ways due to prior commitments.
Park Ji Ah’s funeral is being held at the Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall in Seoul, with the procession set for October 1. Her passing leaves a void in the industry, and she will be remembered for her remarkable talent and contributions to Korean cinema and television.
